NSLK TOMAN... Finally =P

So glad I can make it out for fishing today. Went over to my usual haunt and saw Banhock bro chasing the Giant Snakeheads. Seems like he's been here for an hour practicing his usual top water rig but no takers yet. Quickly set up my 2 rods and join in the fun. I thought my Peacock Basses are around seeing the commotion on the waters but something feels different this time. Hur hur... After a series of no takes on top water, I was left alone to ponder what lure to crack the Toman code here... Reach out for my long time sleeper, a big red diving minnow.

Cast, dive, retrieve yet no takes and was about to give up when FISH ON!!! HOOK SET!!! Woohoo! Strike a couple more times to make sure and was in for a nice fight. Manage to reel in a few notches while the fish is still blur blur but already, my Shimano telescopic rod cannot control the fish and my usually quiet reel screamed like crazy when it decided to dive to the weeds and hug there for a few minutes. I carefully tug and reel carefully while checking my line and drag. 'WTF surely gone case liao' keep repeating in my mind! LOL Finally huge ball of weeds come out and behind it, SWEE LAH FISH STILL THERE!!! 

Finally, my trophy fish this year was caught and by the slightest hookset luck! Measured 60cm and 9lb, it was a 'watermelon' beauty with bright silverish-green markings! I was so pleased my hard work had paid off, especially  since the Tomans here was taught by Master Banhock himself! LOL

Fish is released back and thanks Uncle for photo taking but u aim the camera very bad leh. LOL After the 'gift' from the Water Dragon, big rain came and I pack my belongings and was wowed by the brute force of these Giant Snakeheads, my sturdy hook twisted in a bad shape and I'm sure if I am not careful then I would had lost this biggie!!! Gonna buy a big clear measuring tape liao! LOL Cya Fishos! ^^

First Fish For Water Dragon Year 2012!!! ^O^

Been trying hard to land my target fish for this year, a nice size Giant Snakehead. But I'm gonna admit with my Shimano telescopic rod, its powerless to control the fight against the big one, the only way to land it is to play the fish really well I think. Anyway that's how the fight with a good size Haruan goes today. Plenty of steering action and finally landed it but HAIZ! I yank the fish out by the line and let it rest on the bank while I searched for my lip gripper. Then I turn around the fish disappeared... Damn emo the whole afternoon after. LOL

Went over to new spot to pick up my mood, just want to relax and enjoy the nice sunny weather. Finally found what I looking for. Hur hur... But the Peacock Bass like all go courses liao, dun whack lures one. ZZZzzz Anyway played with a newcomer and finally... HOOK SET!!! FISH ON!!! The fish went rampage mode, swerve left and right and do a pancake dance. LOL Yay!!! My first Mama Zebra Tilapia!!!

Fish released back in good shape although abit woozy, like drunk liao. LOL Anyway happy to catch something so unexpected today. So Fishos, never give up and think postively and most importantly, enjoy your fishing!!! GONG XI FA CAI!!! ^0^

'Lucky!?' My !@#$%

Went to my usual haunt this bright sunny day. So glad it's my off day cos I'm getting a bit moody lately. Just want to go fishing and destress. Fishing is a very good sport cos it can be relaxing at times and heart pounding the next. Quickly recce a spot and found just what I've been looking for. Tomans! Hur hur. But repeated casting doesn't seems to tempt them into biting. Hmm, what's the matter? You want to fight each other but don't bite my lure? Huh!? Suddenly kena a bite! Hopes escalated and fell immediately once I felt the weight. What the hell... Peacock Baby Bass. ZZZzzz I wondered why this little fella want to eat my spinnerbait. Oh well, my first Peacock 2012 today. T_T

Anyway, bite rate is so very bad. That baby fish is all I've caught luring for the whole afternoon. My right arm now sore after trying out several lures to see which are good for my setup. Lastly, I think I finally 'got' my first real fight with a biggie Toman. It wins... T_T !@#$% 30lb leader intact but the braided 20lb line snapped !@#$% Luckily the fishy managed to spew it out and I retrieved the treasured floating lure after much trying.

First Fish For 2012!!! Yay!!!

Hey Fishos, long long time no fish blog liao. Too many events happened plus a crazy rainy season hampered my mood to fish. Anyway, been itching to try out my latest toy, a telescopic Shimano Holiday Pack bought by my wife. I like the cool blue rod very much. Thanks Dear =) My older telescopic Daiwa Liberty Club now become tool for ultralight fishing because the repaired tip don't look sturdy.

Went down my usual haunt today which after these months looks quite dead to me. Still the same story with the tapaoers and baiters. ZZZzzz. Anyway just wanna relax abit and try out my new rod. Reece around the area and I could tell the Peacock Bass have moved on. Only a few smallies still stayed and not tempted by my lures. LOL Only snakeheads give face. Told Banhock bro I kachiao the haruan don't bite never mind must make them angry.  Disturb some more and HOOKSET! FISH ON! Felt the weight of the fish tangled with the weeds damn heavy, went down pull my line and the Mama Haruan shook off all the weeds for me. Hehe!

Banhock bro guessed it to be 2kg but he's wrong. Hehe, a kilo plus 53cm marks a nice day for me! I wan my Giant Snakehead trophy! Hopefully this coming Dragon Year can usher me good luck. Hohoho!
